Dear Content_Manager,
Could you please show me how to input Ztor(Depth to the top of ruptured plane) in GMPE of Chiou and Youngs (2014)?
Thank you very much in advance

Dear user,
It is not necessary to define the Ztor, R-CRISIS calculates it automatically.
Thank you for preference and interest in R-CRISIS.

Dear Content_Manager,
Thanh you very much for your response. Your answer is useful for me.
So, could you please help me confirm that:
-Ztor value was calculated by relationship between Ztor and Magnitude ?
or
-Ztor value was calcuated from geometry of fault plane(Ztor = distance from earth surface to the top of fault plane) ?
or any other way?
Thank you very much.
Dear Vung,
According to Chiou & Youngs (2014), Ztor is the depth to the top of rupture and CY14 Model includes it as follows:
Where,
The expected value of Ztor is calculated through equations (4) and (5):
And the Ztor is calculated based on the rupture plane of the analyzed event.
To answer your question, Ztor is calculated by both options you have described because the model proposed by Chiou & Youngs (2014) requires it in that way.
Thank you for your preference and interest in R-CRISIS.
Best regards,
Thank you very much for your response.
Your answer is very clear and detailed.
This help me so much.
Thank you very much again.
With Best Regards,
Dear All,
I have 1 discussion question in this topic.
According to the Content_Manager, I've understood that:
So I was concerned that we have corrected the effect of the Ztor effect twice. So Is it making the calculated results lower than the actual results?
Please help me clarify this.
Thank you very much.
Dear user,
Note that equation 4 and 5 are proposed by the author, not by us. R-CRISIS team builts the GMPEs just the authors present them in paper, we do not make any modification.
Thank you for your preference and interest in R-CRISIS.
Best regards,
