Hello, when inserting a rectangular fault i see that the ruptures are located near the center of the fault and along its strike. Is there any way to change this so that ruptures occur in all of its faults surface? I am using epicentral distance gmpes and i see no point in inserting a fault this way. It is turning the fault into a set of point sources. Thank you in advance.

Dear Nikos,
The rectangular fault defines a series of rectangles in which hypocenters can take place, without allowing rupture areas to be partially out of the rectangles; this is a common model for an earthquake fault. The reason why you are getting the hypocenters along rectangle strike is because they do not fit at any other site. Remember that this type of seismic source does not allow rupture areas outside its boundaries. If I increase the width of your rectangular fault, more hypocenters can take place inside:
I hope this solves your question.
