I am not sure, but I think the .ssg extension is only the extension that you must put to the file in which you define the Point-source geometry. Maybe you have to create the file (in Excel or some text editor) following the R-CRISIS manual, and finally change the extension ie. "file.txt" or "file.xlsx" --> "file.ssg".
For example, in case of the .gps extension file, I created the file in a text editor, I put the extension, and it worked in R-CRISIS to define my seismicity model.
