Good Day.

I am a newbies in this software and i find it excellent and interesting.

I have a question regarding on how to input site effect in R Crisis. I read back the previous discussion here in forum about grid file and it says that GIS could save as .grd. however i really dont know what are the formats to follow so that i can input the Vs30 in R Crisis from GIS. I hope you can response me in detailed. Thank you very much. This would help me a lot on the progress of my thesis.

Dear Warda,

If you have a *.grd file containing Vs30 values for your study area, R-CRISIS will calculate an Amplification Factor (AF) according to Chiou & Youngs (2014):

To add this *.grd of Vs30 values, you may go to Input -> Site effects:

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions about it.

Best regards,

Chiou, B. S.-J., & Youngs, R. R. (2014). Update of the Chiou and Youngs NGA Model for the Average Horizontal Component of Peak Ground Motion and Response Spectra. Earthquake Spectra, 30(3), 1117–1153. https://doi.org/10.1193/072813EQS219M
