When should I use the negative symbol (-) when defining the geometry of the sources?

When defining the geometry of the sources, the negative symbol will denote coordinates located in the western hemisphere (e.g. 76.15W is to be introduced as -76.15) and in southern hemisphere (e.g. 12.59S is to be introduced as -12.59).
