Recently, I have computed several tests for one region with the same all parameters (seismic city, sources...), but different GMPEs by using NGA08 and NGA-WEST 2 in order to check their PGA and SA results.

I found that the PGA and SA results by using NGA-WEST 2 are much larger than the NGA08 ones.

Could anyone explain to me why the results are so different?

Thank you in advance.

Dear Truyen,

The differences observed are simply result of the attenuation model you selected. We just add to R-CRISIS the attenuation models such as authors explain in their papers, we do not carry out any modification at all. Hence, it is up to the analyst to use the correct attenuation model. We only ensure to add the same model presented in the respective paper. References of the different GMPEs are available in R-CRISIS Documentation.

I hope this helps to solve your question.

Thank you for your preference and interest in R-CRISIS.

Best regards,
