Dear everyone,

After reading the manual, it is abundantly clear that R-CRISIS utilizes the β value of G-R (where β=bln(10)). However, in the seismicity data menu in R-CRISIS application, the field says "Expected value of Beta". This "Beta" is β or b? Because if it is b (for example b=0.6) then the PGA values are reasonable (when compared to results for the same area from the literature), whereas, if its β (β=0.6ln(10), β=1.38) then the PGA values are very small (reduced by 100 cm/sec^2).

I understand that the equations use β and not b but my question is very simple: Does the user insert in the "Expected value of Beta" section the b value (b=0.6 as I mentioned) or the β value (β=1.38)? In my mind the program should convert the b-value to β automatically, so the user will not calculate for each zone the β value.

Every answer will be appreciated and thanks for your time.
